It is caused by the light diffracting off the alternating layers of two different feldspar minerals within its structure. Moonstone balances the masculine and feminine energies within the self, but is best known for amplifying the Goddess energy, compassion, and self-nurturing. It also acts as a powerful emotional stabilizer, helping to soothe overwhelming feelings and release stress.
